ABOUT THE LUXEMBOURG ART PRIZE
Every year the Pinacothèque awards the Luxembourg Art Prize to a talented artist, amateur or professional, with no limits on age, nationality or country of residence.
The Pinacothèque is a private, non-profit museum located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It contributes to the influence of international contemporary art.
The initiative discovers little-known talents from all over the world and gives them the means to achieve a long-term career on the professional art circuit.
The Prize aims to accelerate the careers of emerging artists through the finalist’s group exhibition, supported by the international network of Prize finalists since 2015.
HOW IT WORKS
Ten artists will be selected by June 30th by an artistic committee, chaired by Hervé Lancelin, president and founder of the Pinacothèque of Luxembourg.
The finalists will show their work through a group exhibition in Luxembourg from 28 September to 14 December 2019.
The finalists must then be present in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from 26 to 29 September 2019 to take part in the ceremony or send a representative.
Artists have to create a Candidate Space on the Luxembourg Art Prize website and complete the entry form online.
Everything takes place via the Luxembourg Art Prize website. Only entries submitted online via the artist’s personal Candidate Space will be accepted.
WHAT WILL THE ARTISTS GET
An award of 50’000 euros (about US$56,000) is allocated to the winner and paid into their bank account within a few days. The winner is entirely free to use this money in any way they choose.
All the finalists become life members of the international Luxembourg Art Prize network free of charge.
